Provincial Attestation Letters

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has recently announced several changes to the international education sector in Canada including capping the number of study permits that will be issued for new international students in 2024 through to 2026. As a result, most study permit applicants are required to provide a provincial attestation letter (PAL). After you receive your Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from Langara, a PAL will be issued and emailed to you within two business days. Once you receive both, you can apply for a study permit. There is no need for you to request a PAL.

If you haven’t received a PAL in a timely manner, please contact the International Admissions Department at ieadmissions@langara.ca.

As IRCC is still finalizing the changes to the International Student Program, the information contained on this webpage is subject to change. Please refer to the IRCC website for the latest information. We encourage you to check back here to determine if you will require a PAL, if your situation has changed.
