English Language Requirements
English is the language of instruction at Langara College. It is important for students to be proficient in the English language to reap the rewards of international education, be able to meaningfully contribute in the classroom, and benefit from their studies abroad.
Students who do not meet the English Language Requirements for admission to their program may enroll in Langara English for Academic Preparation (LEAP).
English Language Assessments
Information for some of the English language proficiency assessments is outlined below.
TOEFL IBT
Institution code for Langara: 0335.
There is no department code number.
Results will be sent directly to Langara.
Duolingo English Test
To take the online test students need to have access to a computer with a camera and microphone. Results will be available within 48 hours.
IELTS Academic
IELTS test venue at Langara College.
CAEL
Take the test at home online or at a test centre.
English Language Countries
If you have completed at least four years of full-time secondary or post-secondary study in English in the countries below, you will have met Langara’s Category 3 English Language admission requirement for Regular Studies programs. International Credentials
In addition to satisfying the English language proficiency requirement, International applicants must successfully graduate high school and normally meet the equivalent of a 60% academic grade standard in their final year of studies to be eligible for admission to most undergraduate programs*. To demonstrate proof of the academic criteria, the following documents are required**:
